Tax & Accounting

Charge the right VAT and sales tax on every sale with Stripe Tax, and sell across borders with confidence.

How it works

Tax runs on Stripe Tax, inside your own Stripe account. Add your business address and the places where you are registered in the Tax card of your dashboard, and every checkout works out the right VAT or sales tax for the buyer's location.

You stay in control: tax is collected where you are registered, and nowhere else. Sooper doesn't file or pay tax for you, but your records are ready when you or your accountant do.

Payments, refunds and balances from Stripe are in your dashboard, and a CSV of your payments for any date range is one click away.

Example

A creator registered for VAT in the UK and the EU sells memberships across Europe. Each checkout charges the right VAT for the buyer's country, and at the end of the quarter they export their payments for their accountant.

In detail

Tax on every sale

Memberships, products and single posts all use Stripe's automatic tax calculation.

Where you are registered

Add your tax registrations, and tax is collected in exactly those places.

Prices people expect

Prices in GBP, EUR and AUD include tax. Prices in USD and CAD get tax added at checkout, as is normal there.

Tax on every invoice

Buyers get a Stripe invoice that shows the tax they paid.

Safe by default

If the tax setup can't be checked, checkout pauses rather than charging without tax.

Accountant-ready export

Download a CSV of your payments for any period, with amounts, currencies, customers and countries.
