Sooper vs PatreonThe same members, more of the revenue

Patreon made memberships mainstream, and it still does the basics well. Sooper is for creators who want a real community around those memberships, a shop and bookings in the same place, and a flat fee with payouts that go straight to their own Stripe account.

Why creators switch

Three things Patreon doesn't do.

Not a knock on Patreon. These are just the parts of running a membership that Sooper was built around.

01

One flat fee, paid straight to you

Sooper takes 8% of revenue. No monthly plan, no payout fee, no conversion fee of its own. Every payment is charged on your own Stripe account, so the money never sits with us.

02

A community, not a feed

Chat channels, a personal inbox with attachments, co-creators who take bookings, and sessions members can book straight from your community. Your members get a place to be, not just a list of posts to scroll.

03

Built to grow, not just to collect

Waitlists before you launch, conversion tracking per post and product, and ad tracking for Meta, TikTok, Google and ChatGPT. Sooper tells you what turns followers into paying members.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

The things creators ask before moving a membership over from Patreon.

Can I move my Patreon members to Sooper?

Yes. Export your member list from Patreon, invite them to your Sooper community, and run both in parallel while people move over. You set up the same tier names and perks on Sooper, and you can offer a coupon to make switching easy.

How do the fees really compare?

Sooper charges a flat 8% on revenue, with no monthly fee, no payout fee and no conversion fee of its own. On top of that you pay Stripe's standard processing fees for your country, billed by Stripe to your own account. Patreon's standard plan is 10% for creators who published after August 4, 2025 (legacy plans are 5%, 8% or 11%), plus payment processing (for example 2.9% + $0.30 in USD or 3.4% + €0.35 in EUR), a 2.5% currency conversion fee on payments made in another currency, a fee on each payout, and tax on Patreon's fees where applicable.

What about currency conversion?

On Sooper you sell in one currency (USD, EUR, GBP, CHF, CAD or AUD) and members pay in that currency. If it matches your Stripe payout currency, nothing is converted on your side. If it differs, Stripe converts at its published rate for your country. Sooper adds nothing. Patreon shows members prices in their local currency, adds a 2% to 7% buffer to those prices, and charges you 2.5% on the full amount, tax included, whenever a member pays in a currency other than your payout currency.

Does Sooper handle VAT and sales tax?

Sooper uses Stripe Tax on your own Stripe account. Once you enable it and add your registrations, tax is calculated and collected at checkout based on where the member is, and you can export tax transactions and a payments CSV whenever you need them. Patreon collects and remits sales tax and VAT itself as a marketplace, so you do not register anywhere, but it also charges tax on its own fees in many countries.

Where does the money go?

Straight to your own Stripe account. Every payment is charged directly on your account, and Stripe pays it out to your bank on its normal schedule. Sooper never holds your funds. Patreon collects payments itself, holds them in a Patreon balance, and pays you out on request or on the 5th of the month via bank transfer or PayPal, with a fee per payout.

Can I sell products and bookings, not just memberships?

Yes. Digital products, single posts, pay what you want, per-tier pricing and bookable sessions all live next to your memberships with the same checkout. Patreon also sells posts, collections and digital products as one-time purchases, from $3 upward, but does not offer bookings or per-tier product pricing.

Free to start, no credit card, and your Patreon can keep running while you move.
